There are 3 main manufacturers for floor furnaces. Cozy floor furnaces, Williams floor furnaces and Empire floor furnaces. We are not affiliated with Empire floor furnaces. Every one of the manufacturers requires a yearly inspection of your floor furnace for safety.
We check for gas leaks, pilot burner problems, venting problems, thermostat problems and cracks in the heat exchanger or firebox. We will clean out the furnace and venting and get your floor furnace in tip top shape for another heating season.
It doesn’t matter how old your floor furnace is. It doesn’t matter that the controls for your floor furnace are no longer made. There is a replacement or substitution part on the market that will work. The only part of your older floor furnace that cannot be repaired is the firebox or heat exchanger should it be ruptured.
We install 25,000 btu floor furnaces, 35,000 btu floor furnaces and 50,000 btu floor furnaces. We normally install the Cozy Brand, but we can get any brand that you wish.
Yes, it is code approved to install a normal floor furnace in a bedroom if the room is large enough. If the room is not large enough we can install a direct vent floor furnace that uses outside combustion air.
This is a floor furnace than spans a wall typically from the living room to a hallway. No, this floor furnace cannot be replaced as it is no longer manufacturered. The problem with these floor furnaces is that they allow the interior of the wall above them to become too hot. There have been a great many fires related to this furnace and we have removed many of them to find the entire interior of the wall burned from heat.
They can still be fixed, but once the heat exchanger of this floor furnace (firebox) is ruptured, it must be converted to another type of heating unit. Floor furnaces are still manufactured, but they are the style that only serves a single room. Most people opt for either a dual wall furnace or forced air heating.
